What is an expansion card?

 So, you want to know what an
expansion card is?

It's any computer component that is located inside the computers casing that expands upon computers capabilities. This makes is an internal component and not a peripheral, this is because card refers to the original expansion hardware; these are cards that slot into the motherboard. These cards mostly utilize the PCI slots on the motherboard altho these can also be soldered onto the motherboard in non-card format.
